Biography
King of Sweden is a Finnish, Helsinki based progressive rock band. Being strongly influenced by such classic era progressive rock bands as Camel, Genesis, King Crimson, Yes and Pink Floyd, King of Sweden's music has been described as deeply rooted and energetic progressive rock. At the same time the band's music has it's own unique taste and style, combining classic prog rock as well as psychedelic rock and hard rock influences to it's own, modern and up-to-date sound.
History
King of Sweden was originally founded in Tampere in 2019. The band recorded their first album as a three-piece in December 2019. In 2020 the trio became part of the Golden Robot Records family as King of Sweden signed to it's sister label Crusader Records. Their first single Dreaming About the Emerald was released in November 2020 and the second single The Imprisonment in early 2021. King of Sweden's first album The Training was released in October 2021 alongside a music video Dreaming About the Emerald.
The band went through significant line-up changes during the years 2022-2023 and eventually became a four-piece as the new power trio was completed with a keyboardist / rhythm guitarist. They released a new single, War Rabbit, on 19th July 2024. Their second single from the upcoming album, The Bay, was released on 27th September. King of Sweden's second full-lenght album, Out of the Tunnel, was released on 15th November 2024 by Golden Robot Records. At the moment King of Sweden is preparing to release their third full-lenght album in late 2025 / early 2026.
